Winery: Ventolaio

Grape Variety: Sangiovese

Situated on the road that stretches between Montalcino and the Sant’Antimo Abbey, Ventolaio is a place of true beauty. It’s no surprise why Brunello di Montalcino is Rosso di Montalcino’s big brother: its cherry and rose flavors combine so well to produce a truly elegant red wine and make it one of the most iconic red wines in the country.

Grape Variety: Sangiovese

Ventolaio is a traditional winery in the heart of Montalcino. The Rosso di Montalcino is a 100% Sangiovese wine that has been aged for a shorter period of time compared to its big brother, Brunello. Overall, a beautiful expression of the vibrant flavors and aromas of the Sangiovese grape.

Flavours & Aromas: Cherry, Earth, Rose, Black Pepper

Food Pairing: Pasta with tomato sauce, Pizza, Prosciutto

The Winery

Ventolaio is a family run farm that has been passed on from father to son, centered on the nurturing and growing of vineyards and olive trees. The vineyards are situated in one of the most suggestive and panoramic parts of Montalcino, allowing for great grape ripening and an extraordinary range of intense and typical flavours.

The grapes are manually selected and transferred into stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature. The natural process gives priority to native leavenings contained in grapes creating a specific local identity.
